John Andrew Grummitt was born on a public holiday (UK), May 31st 1971. Clint Eastwood, Sharon Gless (Cagney & Lacey) and Brooke Shields were also celebrating their own birthdays though they had arrived a few years before John. John's birth only added fame to a day which had already seen Lady Godiva ride naked through the streets of Coventry, Britain's first nuclear test and John Lennon and Yoko Ono sit in bed with some hippies to record "Give Peace a Chance".
