A Walk in Japan: Reloaded

In this section of our website you can imagine you were here yourself.

There are now two sections. You can either walk around our apartment or you can walk around our city, Chiryu. Choose which you want to do by reading the instructions below.

Walking around our apartment If you want to walk around our apartment can do so by clicking on the button below. But be warned... our apartment is a bit of a puzzle and you will need to answer several questions to explore it fully. Once you are inside our apartment you can use coloured arrows on the pictures to navigate around. These arrows might be at the bottom of the pictures so make sure you scroll down if you are using a small screen. You will need to collect information to answer questions to move from room to room. Inside the apartment there are all sorts of things you can click on and find out about. The ultimate challenge is getting out the front door. If you have speakers, turn the sound up now. When you pass your mouse over objects with information, you will hear a sound (note that this only works with Internet Explorer). Then, pause your mouse and you can read the information. When you click on the start button below a new window will open. For best viewing, you should make that window as big as possible and (if you are using Internet Explorer or Opera), press F11 to switch between full-screen mode and back again. It all looks much better on a big screen. If you have any questions, just email us and we will answer them. So, are you ready? Click the button to go to our apartment.

Walking around our city Compared to our apartment, walking around the city is easy. You are free to go everywhere that we have already completed. Current highlights include walking to CESA, Pete's apartment and seeing the nearly completed and monstrous Ushida Interchange. See if you can find these. There are coloured arrows on the screen to help you navigate. Unlike inside the apartment there are few sounds or things to click on but there might be from time to time. When there are, we will make it obvious so don't feel you have to keep clicking everywhere! As you walk you can always revert to a map to find out where you are (approximately). To get started simply click on a section of our city below and zoom in until you see the red "Jump in" points. Click on these to enter the walk at that point, facing in the direction of the arrow.
