A much more leisurely day. Left cabin before 10am checkout and drove up through the city past everything we had seen yesterday. Took it easy driving up to the north coast of Kyushu. Stopped and reacquainted ourselves with Mosburger again at Imari just over halfway. Arrived at Karatsu in late afternoon. Stunning beach and really nicely positioned castle just off the beach. Decided to press on up the coast in the hope of camping on an island there. Ferry not a car ferry and we realised we couldn't carry everything we needed onto the island. Abandoned that plan and found a deserted beach nearby where we spent the remaining hours of daylight watching Dad and Sheena test out the very warm sea. Dad stung by jellyfish but nothing serious. Waited until dusk before surreptitiously pitching tents on beach and then playing cards until bedtime. Beautiful starry sky and lovely to listen to the gentle surf as we fell asleep on the beach.
