Itinerary:
Chuck & Julie's »  Suizenji Park »  Noodle restaurant »  Kumamoto Castle »  Chuck & Julie's

Nice night between sheets except for the fact that the main road apparently runs through Chuck & Julie's living room. Out onto the street mid-morning for tram ride to Suizenji Park. The only park worth visiting in the city and you have to pay to get in. Nice park with gardens supposed to recreate the old route from Tokyo to Kyoto. Apart from a grassy knoll that resembled Mt. Fuji, nothing else looked like anything between Tokyo and Kyoto. Stopped to chat to a shop owner, her mother and her cats. Ate the local speciality karashidaikon and blew our heads off. Went for lunch to eat some great noodles before heading to the impressive bastion that is Kumamoto castle. Joined in with some elderly people spinning tops (another local thing) with John spinning one, very briefly, on his balding head. Trooped home and played a few great rounds of the card game of card games: The Great Dalmutie. Slept again between sheets though the road kept us awake slightly longer tonight.
