Itinerary:
Chiryu »  Tsuruga »  Matsubara »  Beijodake »  Amanohashidate Campsite

Today's route took us from our home in Chiryu to nearby Toyota. We got on the expressway here and motored in the rain across the north of Nagoya. At Maehara interchange we switched expressways and headed north along the shore of Japan's largest lake Biwa-ko coming off the expressway just before Tsuruga in Fukui-ken. At Tsuruga we headed out to the coast to visit the pine forest beach of Matsubara before coming back into town for lunch at Bamiyan. After lunch we drove along the coast to Beijodake in the Mikasawan National Park. We climbed this mountain using a toll road to take in the great views. The final leg of today's journey took us to our campsite at Amanohashidate in Kyoto-fu where we camped after dark.
